• Define and execute the Database Engineering strategy across the business.
• Build, lead, and develop high-performing database engineering teams.
• Establish organization-wide standards for database architecture, performance, reliability, and security.
• Partner with Product, Platform, Infrastructure, and Service Management leaders to deliver critical initiatives.
• Drive modernization, automation, and cloud optimization across the database estate.
• Own hiring, talent development, succession planning, and team performance.
• Manage delivery priorities, capacity planning, roadmaps, and stakeholder expectations.
• Champion AI-assisted engineering practices and ensure consistent adoption across teams.
• Track delivery, quality, and operational metrics to continuously improve outcomes.

• Deep expertise in SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL at enterprise scale.
• Proven experience leading a database or data infrastructure function.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms, database resilience, disaster recovery, and security.
• Experience establishing technical standards and influencing multiple engineering teams.
• Demonstrated success building, developing, and retaining engineering talent.
• Excellent stakeholder management, strategic planning, and leadership skills.
