The Account Executive is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities within a defined market or territory. The role focuses on generating new customer relationships, managing opportunities through the sales process, and contributing to revenue growth. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities through proactive outreach, inbound enquiries, referrals, and targeted account engagement
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from initial contact through to contract completion
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand prospective customer objectives, challenges, and requirements
  • Deliver product or service presentations tailored to customer needs.Prepare proposals and support commercial discussions and negotiations
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Maintain accurate customer, pipeline, and forecasting information within the CRM system
  • Work towards agreed sales targets and performance measures.Monitor market activity, customer trends, and competitor developments
  • Share customer feedback and market insights with internal teams to support continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with colleagues across sales, marketing, product, and customer-facing teams to ensure a positive customer experience

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in business development, sales, or a similar customer-facing commercial role
  • Ability to manage opportunities through a structured sales process
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders at varying levels within an organisation
  • Organised approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and opportunities
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of customer needs
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and maintaining accurate records
