The Head of Sales - New Business for Mining, Utilities, and Construction verticals at Ideagen will lead the sales strategy and execution for the ANZ region, focusing on expanding the customer base and driving revenue growth through SaaS solutions. This role demands a seasoned sales leader with deep industry knowledge, a robust network, and a proven track record in driving new business in these sectors.

 

 

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Sales Strategy Development: Craft and implement a comprehensive sales strategy tailored to the Mining, Utilities, and Construction verticals to drive new business in the ANZ region.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and competitive landscapes within the assigned verticals.
  • Target Setting: Establish ambitious yet achievable sales targets and KPIs, aligning with Ideagen’s overall business objectives.

Sales Execution:

  • Pipeline Management: Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, ensuring consistent growth and progression through the sales funnel.
  • Client Acquisition: Identify, engage, and secure new business opportunities with potential clients within the Mining, Utilities, and Construction sectors.
  • Relationship Building: Foster strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers in target industries.

Team Leadership:

  • Team Development: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Performance Management: Monitor and evaluate individual and team performance against targets, providing coaching and support to ensure success.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product, and Customer Success, to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.

Customer Focus:

  • Solution Selling: Leverage in-depth industry knowledge to present Ideagen’s SaaS solutions as tailored, value-driven propositions to meet the specific needs of clients in the Mining, Utilities, and Construction verticals.
  • Customer Engagement: Lead client engagements, presentations, and negotiations, ensuring a customer-centric approach to drive satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Feedback Loop: Act as the voice of the customer within Ideagen, providing actionable feedback to product development and marketing teams to enhance solutions and strategies.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Sales Reporting: Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, detailing sales performance, market insights, and strategic recommendations.
  • CRM Management: Ensure meticulous use of CRM systems to track activities, opportunities, and customer interactions, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.

Skills and Experience

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of 10 years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the Mining, Utilities, and Construction sectors.
  • SaaS Expertise: Proven experience in selling SaaS solutions, with a deep understanding of the software sales cycle and value proposition.
  • Track Record: Demonstrated success in driving new business and exceeding sales targets in the ANZ region.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing sales teams.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a keen eye for identifying opportunities and solving problems.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel extensively within the ANZ region as required.
