Senior Cognos Administrator will provide support in administering Cognos Analytics environments in the aspects of installation, configuration, upgrades, security, performance tuning, deployments etc. This role includes support in time zones required as per the company needs, proactively looks at improvements to the environments to make efficient use of the resources, constantly upgrades self with the new changes being made to the newer versions of Cognos, mentors and guides other Cognos Administrators as well as works closely with development teams to help them deliver efficiently.

• Installation, Upgrade, maintenance and support of all Cognos Analytics components
• Respond to and resolve tickets on technical issues related to Cognos Analytics within defined SLAs.
• Co-ordinate with IBM Support for any issues related to Cognos Analytics tools.
• Understand the Cognos Analytics performance metrics and tune for optimal performance.
• Responsible for monitoring, reporting, and controlling server usage.
• Responsible for deployments and promotion of content across environments
• Creation and maintenance of system documentation related to the Cognos Analytics environment.
• Deep level troubleshooting including RCA.
• Communicate status of production issues to stakeholders in a timely manner
• Identify problems proactively and look for continuous service improvements.
• Participate in problem management and come up with trend analysis on recurring incidents.
• Partner with the DBA, Systems, Networking, and Product teams to facilitate issue resolution.
• Installation, upgrade and maintenance of License Metric Tool to maintain compliance with IBM.
• Provide on-call support.

Shift Type - Night Shift (US)

• 8+ years of relevant experience in Cognos Analytics 11.x.x Administration in distributed Cognos Analytics environment on windows platform.
• Must have version upgrade experience.
• Experience with Cognos deployment on IIS web server.
• Experience with security management in Cognos Analytics.
• Experience should include maintenance and support activities, performance monitoring and tuning, upgrading Cognos versions, software configuration, business continuity and disaster recovery planning as well as capacity planning.
• General IT processes such as Change Management, Configuration Management, Problem Resolution, and Incident Tracking is required.
• Experience with reading through application logs to work through problems finding root causes and rectifying.
• Experience with alternative authentication providers such as Active Directory & Custom Java authentication providers.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and execute on assigned deliverables.
• Knowledge of Event Studio to automate various tasks.
• Experience with report and dashboard development is desirable.
